When I see clients for Nutritional Treatments I usually recommend the inclusion of certain foods and the exclusion of others. Often people are at a loss to know how to use and cook foods that they are not familiar with, or how to replace those food types which need to be excluded. This can cause them to give up on implementing the recommended changes. In response to this I have devised a series of healthy eating and cookery workshops to enable people to make these changes. Our cookery workshops are designed to show you how to easily incorporate tasty, healthy and seasonal foods into your daily diet. They take place in a relaxed, informal environment. Only quality ingredients are used, and as much seasonal produce as possible. Our aim is to show you how to prepare dishes that you can easily recreate in your own kitchen. You will be shown how to prepare and cook grains, pulses, vegetables etc., according to what is appropriate for the season. You will be expected to join in and help to prepare the different dishes which we will then eat for lunch. Our workshops are run by experienced Nutritional therapists and are suitable for all. They include:
The session will consist of an introductory chat and theory session, practical hands-on cookery lesson, followed by a lunch. There will be plenty of time for individual questions. Each day will run from 9.30 am to approximately 2.30pm., though this may vary dependent upon the workshop. Class notes and recipes will be provided as appropriate. All workshops cost £55 (or £45 if booked one month in advance). Avoiding Wheat and DairyIntolerance to dairy foods and wheat based foods is very common. Many people find that their symptoms improve when they remove these foods from their diet. Often therapeutic diets recommend the exclusion of these foods. However because these foods are so common in our diets and often form the bulk of our meals many people are at a loss when looking for alternatives. This workshop will demonstrate how easy it is to avoid both wheat based foods and dairy foods. We will show you tasty, easy to prepare alternatives. Next Class: 24th July or 15th October 2010 Food and Mood This class looks at how the food you eat can affect your moods and mental health. We can show you how to improve your mental wellbeing by altering your diet and the judicious use of supplements. This will apply to conditions such as Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and many more. Next Class: 25th September or 26th November 2010 Nutrition for Pre-conception and Pregnancy A Healthy diet combined with effective natural food supplements will deliver optimum levels of key nutrients to safely support people with fertility issues, for pre-conceptual care, and during and after pregnancy. The more luxurious the nutrition during the sensitive stages of the reproductive process, the more free our children will be from detrimental effects such as weakness, small size and susceptibility to disease. They will also be less likely to suffer with structural and developmental abnormality, learning disabilities, emotional imbalance and mental illness. This class shows you how to make sure you have a well balanced diet and takes into consideration the special requirements related to pregnancy. Next Class: TBA The Healthy Vegetarian Many people choose to be vegetarian either for health reasons or because they do not approve of modern meat producing methods. The term ‘Vegetarian’ can describe a range of diets from simply not eating meat to eating only plant foods. Vegetarians exclude meat and sometimes fish, often replacing them with other animal products such as cheese and eggs, or soya based substitutes. Many vegetarians end up following a diet heavy in dairy and wheat produce and do not get the essential nutrients they need. Healthy vegetarian cooking involves extensive use of beans, peas, pulses, various grains and of course a wide range of vegetables. This class shows you how to have a well balanced vegetarian diet which makes full use of the wide range of foods available. Next Class: 9th July or 23rd October 2010 Pulses and Grains Pulses and grains are often a neglected food group. Do you know .... We can show you all this and more. See how easy it is to incorporate healthy grains and pulses into your daily diet. Next Class: 18th June or 20th November 2010 Healthy Desserts and Treats It is often the lack of desserts and sweet treats which cause people to abandon healthy eating plans. This class aims to demonstrate that you can have desserts and treats but still remain healthy. Next Class: 26th June or 10th September 2010

Our Reiki training is based on the Reiki approach followed and taught by the School of the Living Light. School of the Living Light Reiki is closely modelled on the traditional Usui Reiki teaching and acknowledges the lineage of Reiki masters.
Whilst it is important to respect tradition it is also necessary to adapt to the times and include current knowledge. We include all the traditional elements in our teaching and have added some information such as how to work with Chakra energy and Reiki guides. We offer Reiki I and II training as an intensive two day workshop since the frequencies of light now available on the planet support this for those who choose an accelerated path of growth and healing.
