Nerve Reflexology

Nerve reflexology can be used to provide fast and effective relief from pain.

Pain is defined as ‘an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage’. It includes any abnormal feeling from aching, burning, shooting, numbness, cramping etc.

Nerve reflexology can be highly effective in treating

  • Chronic Low Back Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Pelvic pain
  • Hip and Knee problems
  • Neck, Shoulder and arm pain including Frozen shoulder, Tennis elbow and Carpel Tunnel
  • Migraines
  • ME / Chronic Fatigue
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Pain from degenerative diseases such as cancer, Parkinsons, etc.

And in most cases Improvements are evident after just one treatment.

What is Nerve Reflexology?

Nerve reflexology uses precise points on the bones of the feet rather than on the soft tissue. The reflexologist targets only those areas which are involved in the patient’s condition.

Nerve Reflexology (NR) is an advanced manual treatment method for functional disorders in the musculo-skeletal  (movement) and visceral (organs) system . The treatment focuses on the changes in the peripheral nervous system (PNS), the central nervous system (CNS) and autonomous nervous system (ANS) as a cause or as a consequence of tissue damage or potential tissue damage in the body.

It is a “nerve” treatment method due to the application of nerve reflex points on the foot skeleton. It is a “reflexology” therapy due to the application of “reflective” techniques on the PNS, CNS and ANS.

The different techniques are all focused on interfering in the different parts of the nervous system that are involved in the patient’s pain. These parts can be divided in four stages: changes in peripheral, central, autonomous nervous system and psycho-emotional components.

In all these stages the therapist can interfere using Nerve Reflex Points (NRP). These NRP’s can be followed by other manual techniques interfering in the local musculo-skeletal or visceral dysfunctions.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a therapeutic method of improving health by stimulating predefined pressure points on the feet and hands. This controlled pressure alleviates the source of the discomfort. In the absence of any particular illness or abnormality, reflexology may be as effective for promoting good health and for preventing illness as it may be for relieving symptoms of stress, injury, and illness.

Reflexologists work from maps of predefined pressure points that are located on the hands and feet. These pressure points are reputed to connect directly through the nervous system and affect the bodily organs and glands. The reflexologist manipulates the pressure points according to specific techniques of reflexology therapy. By means of this touching therapy, any part of the body that is the source of pain, illness, or potential debility can be strengthened through the application of pressure at the respective foot or hand location.

I offer various forms of Reflexology practice, including: Classic Foot and Hand Reflexology, Vertical Reflex Therapy (VRT), Nerve Reflexology and Maternity Reflexology.
